Mentor and Mentored

Abby with Deena Mottola and Susan Denault - dear friends, mentors and suppporters of the efforts behind this win!

Mentors

A healthy breeding program and all successes are the product of a village - a partnership between the breeder, owners, co-owners, other breeders, mentors, medical team, instructors and more! Keystone Tollers could not exist without the support and mentorship of ethical Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever breeders who came before us. We have benefited from amazing mentorship, education from stud owners, friendship with local breeders and continued open sharing of information.

Student

We continue our breeding program in this tradition. Success does not happen in a vacuum, and my goal is to stay a student of the many amazing breeders that have brought this breed so far. I hope to carry that legacy forward and we are committed to helping and supporting others in the breed. We love to teach, mentor and cheer others on.

Co-Owners

Co-Owners are the way we breed the best! We are particular about making sure every dog gets a full measure of love and attention. That means we can’t keep them all!

Many of our most promising youngsters are placed with amazing Co-Owners. That dog is their full time pet and partner, just like our household dogs are. The dog gets the best of both worlds by also getting to pursue a show career and potentially helping to produce the best tollers possible.

Tollers have a tendency to bring people together. Some of my closest friends started as co-owners.
